In the quest for food with ingredients I recognize, can pronounce and that exist in nature, I've started making mayonaise. This recipe is an adaptation from one at www.foodwishes.com
2 egg yolks
1 cup oil
1 tsp mustard
1/8 tsp sugar
3/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp lemon juice
Put all ingredients in, let settle. Hold stick blender against bottom. Give a few short pulses until it starts to thicken at bottom, then slowly move blender to to incorporate all oil. Voila. Mayonaise.
Ooh, sounds good! I've been wanting to try making my own mayo and dressings! Now to find a good (and simple) one for ranch dressing. :) Thanks so much for this!
